Commodity Entry Screen

For International Shipments, we provide a method of entering information needed for Customs documents.  This is the Commodities Screen.

The amount and level of detail required for shipments vary by carrier.  This topic is broken into sections, based on Carrier.  Scroll through this long topic for specific information.  In all cases, if you have any questions regarding the information entered on this screen, call the Carrier for advice before proceeding.

REQUIRED – ORANGE SECTION: You must enter the “Package Contents,” pick the “Contents Type,” and fill in at least one Commodity.

RECOMMENDED –ORANGE SECTION: CONTENTS CERTIFICATION:  Optional: if you can verify the contents, check “The customs information is certified to be correct:” and fill in the name of the certifier.

REQUIRED – ORANGE SECTION/CUSTOMS FORM: You must select the appropriate customs form for your shipment.  We attempt to make the correct selection for you.  If you are uncertain, contact Endicia support for help making the correct selection.

REQUIRED – PINK SECTION: COMMODITIES DETAIL: You use this section to build a commodity list.  AT LEAST ONE LINE IS REQUIRED

  • Itemize each part of the shipment.  For example, if you have a shipment with toys, books, and clothes, you would have 3 lines, itemizing the quantity, weight, value, and other information for each.  The sum of these must agree with the scale weight and value.  Click ADD for each line.

  • On commodity shipments with insurance or COD: we are required to pass the commodity value. Be sure to use the total commodity value when insuring or using COD. This does not apply to alternate declared values.

  • Questions?  Contact the carriers support staff to learn how to create a correct commodities list for your shipment

IMPORTANT: The sum of the weight of all items in this section cannot exceed the total weight of the shipment.  The system will warn you.

USPS International - Customs Forms

As noted above, in the orange area, you must pick the appropriate customs form, based on the service and on the total customs value.

If you “Cancel,” the system will return to the Shipping screen to just before you clicked “Process.”

“Done” finishes the process and immediately sends the information to DAZzle.

ITN Number

When entering commodities and the value crosses $2,500.00, the system will remind you that an ITN from an AES filing is probably required.
