Minimum Retail Margin Option

This option is enabled and managed on the Shipping Setup - Process Options tab

We have added an important new option to set a Default Retail Margin percentage. When the Shipping Screen finds a Retail Rate that is less than the calculated Discounted Cost, the Retail Rate displayed will be based on this formula.

The most frequently encountered scenario for this option would be Carriers adding new zones that aren’t covered by existing formulas
This new feature will create a retail price for a shipment until you can correct/edit your markup formulas
This feature is intended as a tool to protect margins in odd circumstances. It is not intended as a new method of retail pricing calculation

The Rate button will also have a tooltip that indicates when this is the case. You will continue to have the option to set margins lower than this default, it’s only when the Cost/Retail appear upside down that this is invoked.

These options are set in Shipping Setup/Process Options tab.

By default, the markup/margin for this new feature is set to 0.00. Please add a default rate to specify a minimum you wish to use. If you set it up and wish to disable it later, simply set the percentage to 0 again.

You can choose between using Markup or Margin as a calculation method. Note the differences in the details noted below:

Markup % (also called Markup Multiplier in other parts of the program) will calculate a rate by multiplying the base Cost by the entered percentage. For example, if the Cost is $10.00, a 150 Markup % will calculate a Retail rate of $15.00.
Gross Margin will calculate a Retail rate where the percentage of Gross profit is the entered value. For example, if the base Cost is $10.00, a 40 Gross Margin value will calculate a rate of $16.67 (Gross profit amount is $6.67, or 40% of the Retail rate).
