During the shipping process, there are several pop-up messages to inform you of additional services offered or warning on common mistakes. The system will warn you if the service/ZIP code selection you chose may have delivery issues.
In many cases, these messages are informational, allowing you to continue with the shipment after clicking OK to the warning. Please pay careful attention to these warnings to avoid address correction fees and package processing issues
Warn against using UPS and FedEx if the destination appears to be a PO Box
When a 2-day service is selected on Thursday, indicate if Saturday Delivery is available
When a 2-day service is selected on Fridays, indicate overnight or Saturday Delivery would get there sooner
Indicate when a next day service is selected on Friday and Saturday Delivery is available
Warn that next day services do not arrive the next day when shipping to Alaska or Hawaii
Warn that Saturday Delivery times are not the same for FedEx Priority
In many cases, these are intended to give you an up-sell opportunity, such as to sell Saturday Delivery Service. These messages are intended only as reminder warnings; they do not automate a response.
The system will warn you if the ZIP code you entered is not in the last list we received from the carriers. This is an informational warning; it will not stop you from rating and shipping the package. You should proceed with extra care to confirm via the Carrier web site that the customer has not given you an incorrect address.
USPS regulations restrict the items that can be sent Standard Post to Zones 1-4. Only items which cannot be sent via Priority mail are allowed to use Standard Post to Zones 1-4. These are the zones closest to your store location.
Examples of items that must be shipped via Standard Post include mailable hazardous materials and live animals. All other, ex. regular items or merchandise, to Zones 1-4 should use Priority Mail.
The prices for Standard Mail are identical to Priority mail for Zones 1-4.
This exclusion does not apply to Zones 5-9. Any mailable item may use Standard Post to those further zones. The prices for Standard Post are less than Priority Mail for those zones.
When selecting Standard Post for a shipment to Zones 1-4, you will see the a warning screen asking you to confirm that the contents of the shipment applies to the rules. Select the applicable choice from the list and click Continue. The default will be to not ship Standard Post for this shipment. Switching to Priority Mail (same cost) will be the default choice.
We strongly encourage you to leave these messages enabled. However, many pop-ups can be turned off in Shipping Setup -> Process Options - Show pop-up advisories
