Windows Taskbar Applications

Shown are typical items on your Windows Taskbar that should be running in order for ReSource PartnerTM to operate correctly.

Process Web Requests : The purpose of this program is to pass your package information to the carrier and to check for information from the carrier back to the ReSource program. It is important that you not close this program .

If you use ICVerify for credit card validation, you will also have:

ICVerify Multi User Request File Processor: Used to handle the requests for credit card authorizations.
JCard Communication Engine : Some customers will also have a JCard task bar button. This program is a companion application to the Multi that is loaded on some ICVerify installations.

In the system tray, you may also have the MS SQL Server icon.

NOTE: The illustrations above relate to the primary (Server) machine in your store. Client machines will only have ReSource and UPS task bar button s showing. This is normal and by design.

Process Web Requests

The Process Web Requests ( PWR) application interfaces with certain carrier processes to automate retrieving tracking numbers and other package information.

UPS: Retrieves package tracking information for the customer's receipt and for package lookup in the ReSource Program. Closing PWR will result in the label printing, but no tracking information
FedEx: Retrieves label and package tracking information for the customer's receipt and for package lookup in the ReSource Program. Closing PWR will result in no label printing, error messages, and no tracking information

It is necessary for PWR to remain running through the day. It should start automatically when you turn on your computer each morning. You should see it on your Windows task bar throughout the day on your Server.

Closing PWR will bring up a warning that you will not be able to process DHL packages on any machine and UPS functionality will be limited (you will get a label but no tracking information will be on the customer receipt). Please allow it to remain running.

If you accidentally close PWR, you can quickly resolve the issue.

On your Server machine...

Click START, All Programs, Startup, left click on Process Web Requests.
You should see PWR reappear on your task bar and are now ready to continue processing packages.
