There are a variety of ways to add specialized messages to your Receipts
To edit the general message that appears on the top and bottom of each receipt, go to Program Setup - Store Information – General (tab) – General Receipt Options. There are areas there to add information for the header and footer of each receipt, such as your phone number, address, or email address.
You can add a message to your receipt when items within a particular category are sold. This is a category level tool. The message applies to any item sold within the category.
By default, this option is enabled for the default USPS categories, and the text ”US Postal Rates are Subject to Surcharge” will print when an item in the Stamps or USPS categories is sold.
You can have different messages for different categories, and they will all print in the order the items appear on the receipt (message only prints once per category, and the exact same message does not print more than once, even if setup for multiple categories. I.e., if you have the same message for Stamps and USPS Shipping, the message will only print once). You can enable this feature for other categories, change or add messages, etc. through the Inventory Item Setup screen. This new tool can be used for promotional purposes or to meet many other needs.
Go to Databases, Inventory, and select a Category (This is only available by Category, not customshouse for individual items).
Click The Vendor/Report Tab
You will see a new Check box for Message when Item Sold
If this option is checked, you will see an Edit button to the right
Click the Edit button to view or change the current message
This entry box is designed to match the width of the Receipt. The message will print as it appears here.
To define preset receipt messages and enable their use, go to Program Setup - Store Information – General (tab) – General Receipt Options
Never - Disables this option.
Use - allows selecting from the preset list whenever the operator clicks the Additional Info button on the POS screen. It works similar to the Comment and PO Number options.
Pop-up - is the same as Use but the system will also bring up the Additional Info screen when a sale is finished. Used to remind the operator to pick a message (if desired).
To add a preset message to the list:
Just start typing in the new message box (the lower one). It formats just like it will appear on the receipt.
Click the ”Save Message” button.
To edit an existing message
Highlight the message in the top box you wish to change, it appears formatted in the lower box.
Make your edits.
Click Save Message
If you are editing a message, but decide you don’t really want to change it, click the ”New Message” button
To delete an existing message
In the top list, highlight the message you want to erase.
Click the ”Delete Message” button
Note: on the Additional Info screen, leaving or picking the receipt message {None} means no additional lines will print.
