Email Tab - Shipping Functions & Notifications - Shipping Setup

You must first complete email setup, shown on the left side of this tab, before using the Shipment notification features.

 

 

Setup and configuration of email and other related functions are discussed in detail in the Email Functions Overview section.  

  

Please review that section for more information about the options shown on this tab.  Most of the information on this tab mirrors the information entered on Store Information - Advanced System Options Tab .  You can enter information on either tab and it will be recorded on both.  IMPORTANT: There are shipping notification options that are only set via this tab

Shipping Notification Options -Setup

You can separately specify a message to the package receiver and sender on this screen.  You have options relative to both also.

 

 

The subject line and message text for each of these options can be customized to suit your needs.

 

Changing Message Text:   You can change or edit the text to suit your needs.

 

Changing Date/Name Variables: When the email is created, the special field names (shown between {}) will be replaced with the appropriate information for the shipment. The text entered here will be used as the default for new emails, but can be customized for each shipment if needed.

 

If you customize these variable fields, you MUST modify them using the format shown below.

 

The special fields that can be used are as follows:

 

 

Shipping Notification - Prompt For Email Address Options

If your system is configured to prompt (for either option), or if an email address is missing and you have selected the option to prompt for missing email address, you will see the preview screen, where you can enter any missing information, or customize the message for that shipment.  This prompt appears after the shipment is processed.

 

 

The special name fields from the setup screen will be replaced with the appropriate information for the shipment. You can further edit the text if desired, and select whether to send either the Recipient or Sender email or both.

 

Click the Send button to send the emails when ready, or click Don’t Send if you do not wish to Send emails for this shipment.

Shipping Notification - Multiple Email Recipients

We expanded the e-mail field throughout the program to allow for multiple addresses, allowing more than one recipient to receive Invoices, Mailbox or Shipping notifications, and AR statements.

Separate multiple addresses with a semi-colon at any email address entry screen in ReSource.
